Cool IoT Use Cases: Canadian city develops data-driven cycling plan

IoT Now -- There is a clear need for smart city planners to obtain a better understanding of the place of bicycles in the overall transportation mix in order to improve the safety of the streets for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. 

The City of Kitchener in Ontario expected its population to increase dramatically over the next three years. They wanted to diversify the city’s transportation modes to prevent future gridlock and to reimagine travel options in response to an increase in the population and density of the downtown area.
